Breastfeeding Concerns: What's normal, what's not

First of all, any issues or concerns about breastfeeding that make you ask, "is this normal?" can almost definitely be answered with an emphatic yes. The problem itself might be unique, but it is not unique to have breastfeeding problems. In this section of Breastfeeding.com, we'll address all your questions about breastfeeding issues, breastfeeding concerns and problems with breastfeeding--both for you and baby. First, there are questions about your milk and milk supply. Some moms find their milk has dried up while for others it never comes in the first place. You might have other questions about unique breastfeeding circumstances, like breastfeeding with the rotavirus, viral meningitis, or breast infections, breastfeeding after sedation, or the appearance of lactation headaches. Many moms also experience sore nipples, red bumps on their breasts or letdown pain, and we'll fill you in on how to deal with those discomforts. Some other common issues (that might not seem common to you) are lopsided breasts and pain during sex. We'll also tackle issues that deal with baby and--time to get used to it--the questions start with poop. Does baby have diarrhea or blood in his or her stool? How much poop is normal, and is it normal to poop after every feeding? And why is baby so gassy and what can you do about it? You also might have a baby that spits up a lot, and we'll let you know just how much is normal. Basically, if there's a question to be asked about whether or not something is normal, you'll find the answer in this section. Good luck!
