I provide pregnancy, labour and postpartum support, and within that service offer home visits (generally 2 antenatal & 1 postnatal), 24/7 telephone assistance, education, sibling at birth support, continuous presence throughout labour (when needed), partner guidance, comfort measures, advocacy, video or photography, breastfeeding, debrief of birth, resources/contact numbers, information and access to my extensive video and book library. I attend births at home. I offer 3hr workshops in women/couples homes and regularly co-facilitate 1 day Active Birth Workshops. The process of labour and birth is covered, as is relaxation and comfort techniques, fear and pain concepts, fathers and support roles, pain relief options and medical interventions, hospital procedures, informed consent, breastfeeding etc and birth video's are shown. Also available to clients is a pregnancy and postnatal group that is held fortnightly, which gives the opportunity to meet with other parents and to receive ongoing support. I'm always open to facilitating trainings for childbirth related health professionals or as a guest speaker for other groups and organizations.
