For nurses who work clinical OB units, please don't be afraid to promote and encourage the mother's who are birthing at your facilities to feed their babies breastmilk and ONLY breastmilk. Breast feeding and formula? The statements always start.... he is eating so much, I can't make enough milk for him. He just wants to nurse all the time. Maybe I need to give him formula to or maybe I need to start giving him cereal in his milk. Breast milk production comes from a supply and demand cycle.
