About Me
My name is Tora. Tora means Tiger in Japanese and I think I embody some of the aspects of the tiger. I am calm, steady and patient which helps me a lot in my job. I am an RN with a Masters in Nursing and an education focus. I also have a liberal studies Masters degree, with a concentration in public and health administration.
I am proud that I have worked for Planned Parenthood since 1995 and get to do a lot of patient education while I am there. In my job as a labor and delivery nurse, I enjoy helping new families grow. I believe that all babies should be breastfed {not artificially fed} and left intact {not circumised}. I practice what I preach and weaned my son on his 4th birthday. I nursed my daughter until she was 24 months old. I would especially like to encourage these practices in women and families of color and multi-ethnicity. I believe that the earth would be a better place if all children were loved and wanted (and planned).We are a family of lacto-ovo vegetarians and proudly recycle, compost and reuse!
I have a thriving doula business and am enjoying that immensly. I have been the doula at many births in the last few years and have had very satisfied clients. I have finshed working on a scrapbook with photos and letters of reference and thank yous from my clients. Email me if you would like to talk about my doula services.

I love trivia so spend a bit of time at Sony.com, a Jeopardy site plus at 7 every evening, that is where you will find me, watching Jeopardy! I have been getting some great bargains at eBay, such fun! I like Mom to Mom chats and talking to my friends, other nurses and medical professionals that are like-minded.I belong to an online group that is seeking to abolish the act of infant circumcision, as we find it barbaric and an unnecessary cruelty to inflict upon an innocent and new life. Every child has the right to genital integrity and no parent has the right to alter their chilren's genitals. That decision should only be made by the person to whom the body belongs to. I only take doula clients who plan to breastfeed and not circumcise.

Hi Doula Sisters....I'm in the FL Panhandle near Pensacola. I just finished my certification with DONA in January. I'm a CLC since last September and trained through Healthy Children and the Center for Breastfeeding. I'm also a volunteer with OSD and working on my Childbirth Educator with ICEA.

I am from Michigan and I am a SAHM of 2 wonderful little boys. I decided to become a Postpartum Doula, after having struggled after the delivery of both of my boys. I am not a certified doula but I am a labor and delivery RN at a birth center in Maryland with 4 wonderful midwives. I am also an IBCLC in private practice and at a hospital as well as a childbirth educator.

I live mostly on the mom's community side because I host a live LC chat there and answer questions throughout the day too.

At our birth center I do work with doulas, I have a friend who is a postpartum doula, and one who does hyponobirthing. I also work alot with acupuncturists, a homeopath, and a craniosacral therapist. I was working only in the hospital for 17 years prior. I was mislead...This natural world of birth is just wonderfully refreshing and amazing!

I am a certified birth doula in Lubbock, TX. I have 3 kids of my own who were all birthed naturally (no pain meds). I'm considering midwifery but currently staying busy with my little ones and hoping to add to our family in the next year. I also teach child birth education and am a lactation consultant working towards cert.

I am a proud lactivist and make t-shirts and onesies with fun bfing sayings. I am also an "intactivist" as of about a yr and a half ago. I respect my clients' wishes regarding circ, and educate them to the best of my ability.

I am an avid pro-lifer and believe that every child is planned by God and wanted and loved by someone, even if not by the birth parents. I will support any mother who chooses adoption for her baby; the loving choice.

I am currently looking into becoming a postpatum doula since my oldest started kindergarten this week!

I am an attorney and father. My wife is a physical therapist who does newborn craniosacral therapy, which is especially helpful for children who have had difficult births. We have both been involved in mentoring young men and women.

I am currently working to eliminate public (Medicaid) funding for nontherapeutic neonatal circumcision. Unfortunately, there is a lot of ignorance and misinformation about circumcision, so this has been difficult! Currently, many states are eliminating social workers, residential homes, and dental care, all while funding circs with no questions asked.

If you are interested in more on this subject (especially if you live in the state of Kentucky) I would be happy to provide it.
