North Shore Lactation is a breastfeeding medicine private practice serving Long Island and Eastern Queens. North Shore Lactation was founded to meet the needs of breastfeeding mothers in our community. Our goal is to provide high quality support, guidance, and education to families interested in making breastfeeding a part of their lives. By providing support with patience and compassion, and in a relaxed atmosphere, we can help mothers and babies find their own rhythm that will lead to a comfortable and memorable breastfeeding experience. North Shore Lactation understands the real-life challenges many women face, and respects every mother's effort to breastfeed. We aim to provide mothers with accurate information and individualized support to bolster their decision to breastfeed. Michelle Turner is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Long Island University in 1992 and received her MA from New York University in 1998. She has 15 years of pediatric experience which includes working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at North Shore University Hospital Manhasset, working at Mount Sinai Medical Center in the Pediatric Hepatology/Liver Transplant division, working as a primary care provider at Family Health Associates, Mount Sinai of Queens, and most recently working at the offices of two prominent pediatric practices on Long Island. She completed her lactation training and clinical work at The Mount Sinai Medical Center.
