Just experienced a beautiful birth today. My client was so calm so cooperative it was hard to tell where she was at in her labor. I've been attending births since 1990 and can usually tell where a lady is at by the signs she gives, things she says. But this one was very different. I showed up at her house and she was light hearted yet 1 to 2 minutes apart with her contraction. Suggested we move along, because I wasn't sure what would happen with her contractions once her water broke. She labored gently quietly, she started out at 1 and 2 minutes apart and stayed that way up until transition. Where she had longer rests between pushes. Quite an amazing lady, pushed a half hour almost a ten pound baby with no tears. I was her doula and she delivered in the hospital. Just beautiful. Mom and dad worked well together. I was honored to be there. Sweet, sweet baby. Anne
