Okay, never thought I would say this, but I want to wean DD. She is 19months old and being pregnant with twins...I just want to wean her. Her teeth hurt my sensitive nipples, my stomach is getting in the way and she is too heavy to have laying on my tummy. We only nurse at night, so how do I do this..any suggestions or recommendations?

I think you must make it a gradual thing, for her emotional health. Some moms talk about limiting their times of nursing to the count of "10" for example. Another member swears by taking oral Evening Primrose Oil for nipple tenderness while BFing during Lactation (her name is Gypsy if you'd like to PM her).

It is kind of heartbreaking, but I really am not able to take it anymore.. I think they are drying up a lil anyways, so I just have to find a way to wean her...gradually. Where to start..

I completely understand and am so very sorry.
We started a few nights ago with nightweaning. Dd is 19mths. I just can't stand it while I'm pg. The first night was pure hell. Hours and hours of crying and pleading for milk. Unfortunately, there wasn't much milk to give. It was heartbreaking. I comforted her the best I could. We co-sleep. She is an allnight nurser. She never unlatches until she wakes up.
Night 2 was better. Still a lot of crying but not as bad. She refused to let dh have anything to do with her.
Night 3 was even better. She only cried a few times but understood when I said no milk. She would snuggle up to me, fuss a bit, and go to sleep.
Night 4 was great. Only mild fussing 1 time when I told her no around 12am. Then she actually slept through until 6am. That is the most uninterrupted sleep I have gotten in 19 months. I felt so refreshed this morning.
