Pumping, that is. Good gravy, I just realized I am pumping for my 20 month old. I keep telling myself I am going to stop, but I never do. I was going to stop at the beginning of this school year, but I did not, I am still pumping twice a day. Dd was still nursing all day long, and I didn't think she was ready for me to quit.
I am just so worried that my supply will go away and it will hurt our nursing relationship if I stop. I want her to able to nurse until she is 2, at least.
Small vent on my part, I guess. Winter break is here, and I won't have to pump for 2 weeks, so that will be nice. Maybe when I get back I will be able to stop. ;) Highly unlikely I suppose.

I'm super impressed. I stopped pumping at 11 months because I hated it so much.
FWIW, I'm nursing a 23 month old now. Just not all day long. :)

You are awesome!!
I understand your fear. I continued pumping for a month after my DD was sleeping through the night and taking no milk while I was gone. Stop when you feel ready, but I do recommend that you cut down to one pumping before quitting entirely.

Thanks. I really appreciate the support. I know people around me think I am a wacko for still nursing and pumping for dd, not that it matters. I live in a small community with few breastfeeding mothers.
I will keep on until I am ready to stop. At the most, it will only be another 5 months of pupmping, then it is time for summer vacation. 5 months is nothing, considering how long I have been pumping. :)

WTG girl! I am thinking of hanging up the horns when DD is 18 mos but I don't know. I don't want my supply affected either. I have 5 month supply of frozen BM I am looking into donating because she won't take it anymore from a bottle or sippy so I am really pumping for no reason.

Hey girl, I pumped until my DD was 18 months and at that point I was down to one during the work day. When I quit I also went through a job change and became a teacher. I noticed absolutely no drop in supply and no problems. I made sure to nurse my DD every morning before work and she would usually nurse as soon as we got home and then again to sleep and during the night and... well you get it. On weekends I carried on just like nothing changed. It was hard emotionally. I think I cried the last time I pumped and I know I cried when I finally packed my pump away because it was a only a few weeks ago. And guess what? My darling wonderful daughter still nurses and she will be three on January 23rd. Your body will adjust that's what's so wonderful about mammary glands!
BTO- I was on these boards all the time while pumping and it really kept me going! Hang in there YOU will know when YOU are ready to stop!

Oh yeah, how do you pump as a teacher? I have been wondering how to get privacy and time b/c we are TTC again.
