View Full Version : How'd you do over the Holidays?

I think I did fairly decent. My downfall was some little things I made with a crust kind of like pie crust but with eggs added in, walnuts, caramel, and chocolate ganache. I've done decent with having one of whatever but those things kept finding their way into my mouth.

My gameplan was lots of water, think about what I wanted and why and avoiding temptation. I also avoided drinks (no alcoholic drinks where I was but plenty of hot cocoa, horchata, Russian Tea, etc)

I don't think I did too badly as far as food goes. I did eat like 6 cookies last night though.:(

I did terrible, but I'm okay with that. The scale has not reflected upon how bad I did (yet), I assume that's because I've been drinking alot of water. Thank goodness for water weight.

Ummm, I sucked and I have been avoiding this particular board because I don't know what to say yet.

BLAH I hate this time of year :(

Holidays are almost always a bump in the road. We are trying to do too many things, staying up late, eating on the run, and surrounded by tempting little goodies.

Me? I ate delicious food. I stopped when I was full, and did not overeat. That to me was a success. I also did between 40-70 pushups per day, and abs every morning. Although I did not work out, I finally got rid of the sinus infection that I have had for 3 weeks. Overall, I would say "C+" for score.

I was just going to post this same ? this morning :)
I haven't had my x-mases yet so we will see. We have them this weekend.
I stopped counting my calories though for awhile and am going up and down 2-3 pounds- mostly maintaining.

I gained a couple, actually. I know it's my fault, I consciously decided to eat foods I knew weren't good for my diet. Such is life. I'm back on the wagon today, I think. I'm already feeling so much better about things even just losing 8 lbs. I fit back into some of my "fat" clothes. Another 10 lbs and I'll squeeze into my normal clothes. And 5-10 lbs more and I'll feel like myself again. I'm very optimistic. (er.. .today!)

I did pretty good. I kept looking for ways to stay active, like taking the kids tobogganing, playing Dance Dance Revolution and going for a few runs.

I was involved in the food prep for much of the week, and I always tried to have one veggie based dished that I could indulge in. I also made a lower fat sugar free pumpkin cheesecake for dessert which I'm going to make a tradition. It was so yummy, and several people commented that it was nice to have a lighter option.

So, in the end, I maintained my weight.

I did not do well because I was staying with inlaws.

They are the type of people who can't understand life without bread and pasta and tons and tons of sugar.

I didn't want to be an ungrateful guest and so I just ate what was available and scarfed Tums.
