I needed to talk about my girls and I knew this is where I could do that. I lost my identical twin girls last summer at 12 weeks, though I didn't know it until 15 weeks. We know they were girls because we opted for genetic testing following the D&C. All was fine with the chromosomes so we'll never know what caused the loss. DH's family has only had two girls born in the last 150 years and we would have thrilled everyone by doubling that in one fell swoop. Three of my friends and I were all due within a month of each other and they all have had big healthy boys now. I'm thrilled for them but I'm feeling extra sad as I was sure I'd be pregnant again by now but I'm not. I have been dredding the approaching date and so hoped to have another little baby on the way to think about and distract me. I guess now that the whole time frame was supposed to be only about the girls. I know it will happen eventually, but in the meantime I just wanted those two special little angels to be thought of this weekend.
