Breastfeeing and a Steroid

I broke out in hives yesterday and was given a large shot of steroids. I was then also given a midrol pack to take once home. I asked at the hospital about nursing but they didn't seem to have any great ideas. The nurse said I should probably wait 24 hours (but they she also didn't know that you could freeze breast milk)
Does anyone have any experience with this? Could you please let me know your thoughts?
