When I first got my job my second child was still a baby. I was only able to pump either in the changing room or bathroom. I am a cashier at a store. I'm part time but on the weekends I'm there for about 9 hours. I'm pregant with my 3rd child and I know I'm going to have to pump. I just wish that I had a place more comfortable than a hard little bench type seat. The bathroom is no place to pump because of all the germs in that room.

That would be pretty difficult. What about the warehouse? Would your employer be willing to make you a makeshift room near an electical outlet with boxes? You could try pumping in your car. I find that very comfortable, and they make adapters for the lighters. Would you employer be willing to let you borrow their or another persons office a few times a day? I wish you luck!

I would try your car.
If not, is there a place where you could put a chair with a curtain around you?
That really stinks.
Congratulations on your upcoming new little one.

I am sorry about this. I agree with the car suggestion or maybe a closet (i know not great.)

I have pumped in my car and I love it. I put the a/c on, the radio w/ a nice station and I even though I had dark tinted windows, I put a shawl around my front just in case someone came to park next to my car.

Try your car. I haven't pumped in my car yet but it works great for breastfeeding so I don't see why it wouldn't work for pumping. If you don't like the bench in the changing room, ask the person in charge of the rooms if you can keep a chair close by to take with you into the room.

you can also try pumping extra on the weekends and putting it in the fridge. Pump for ten minutes, stop for ten, and repeat for about an hour. Read a book or watch tv during this time to keep yourself from getting bored.

I pump in the car when I'm out of the office. If that isn't a good option for you talk to someone with an office and see if you can work out a deal. Maybe you could take your pump breaks when they are on break, at lunch or in meetings. Good luck and Congrats on #3.

Would they let you keep a bag there with a comfortable pillow to sit on to make the changing room easier to deal with? I agree that pumping in the bathroom is no fun, and I have done that at conferences when I just couldn't find another option. Are you possibly working in a mall? The malls near where I live have nursing rooms for the privacy of moms if they want it, and I'm sure you could pump there too.

I understand this problem! I work at a Credit Union and the ONLY place for me to pump is the bathroom. I wish you luck finding something. If the problem is the hard bench maybe you could just pack around a little pillow or 'stadium seat' to use there?
