I'm sorry CJ. What have you been doing to lose?

I was thinking about starting my own thread to post this, but if you don't mind I'll just post here. I used this super high tech scale at the YMCA and when I started at the Y about a month ago, I got a read out from the scale. This was also the time I started weight training.

Here are my numbers from 12-12-07

Weight: .................... 278.5
BMI: .................... 45.6
Fat%: .................... 50.1
Fat Mass: .................... 139.5
Lean Body Mass (Muscle): ....................139.0

And my numbers from 1-14-08

Weight: .................... 270 -8.5
BMI: .................... 44.2 -1.4
Fat%: .................... 46.1 -4%
Fat Mass: .................... 124.5 -15
Muscle: .................... 145.5 +6.5

So, I lost a total of 15 lb's of fat and gained 6.5 pounds of muscle. The difference is the 8.5 pounds that show on a regular scale lost. That is so awesome, especially considering this was during the holidays. Weight training is where it's at if you're trying to lose. I can't wait to see the results in another month.

That is so awesome Babycakes. I have been working on trying to get up in the mornings before anyone else and doing a video. I can't use the treadmill then as it makes to much noise. I am also going to buy some hand weights. All I have right now are 2 pounders and those are nearly heavy enough. Someday the kids will be in school and maybe then I can spend my days at the gym. :)

Wow, awesome job Babycakes! What a cool printout! You can really track your progress!

I have had a tough time losing as of late. One pitfall or another comes along. I'm still walking a mile in the morning before the family gets going for their day. This morning I added at least part of a pilates video before I go walking. I don't walk earlier b/c it is so dark in the morning. I don't walk longer b/c hubby has to get out the door and the wee ones wake up. I thought if I would do a pilates before I walk that it might add to the progress. Now to get my hiney out of bed! :)

Eatingwise--I do pretty good throughout the day but need to watch my portions for supper. I love supper! I also have to watch the temptation to eat in the evening when the hubby does his grazing. Lucky for him, he has an awesome metabolism on his side!

I need to chug down more water but on days like today when I get busy, I never get enough in. Oh well, it isn't a sprint--it's a marathon. I have to make decisions everyday. I'm bummed but not too bummed. It'll happen. I just have to keep making good choices.

I'm down 4 lbs this week. First time since Thanksgiving that I've really lost. I've gone back and forth in that time, but my goal was to not gain over the holiday's so I'm happy.

My 4 lbs also puts me at 30 lbs, 15%, and 5 BMI points.

Babycakes you are awesome.

Start weight: 126
Last week: 112
This week: 115

Not a huge surprise, but certainly not the direction I want to be going. The last of the holiday parties are over as of yesterday. I had an awesome workout today and feeling motivated again.

start weight: 248
last week: 243
this week: 238

To mean it seems unusual and I hope I don't gain it back. I haven't done much exercise, have added lots of water. Plus I am dealing with a sick kid so I haven't been able to eat much, at least that is a plus. I need to find an exercise program. I thought about t-tapping but can't afford them off her website. I'm trying to talk my dh in to buying me a weight ball. Have a good week everyone!

Sounds like you are really dedicated and on the right path. I totally understand about your dh's metabolism, I hate that men burn more calories. in. there. sleep! I hope you have a great week and get that water in! :)

Myself, YOU are awesome! Way to go...you're doing great!

Zinke..definitely up the weights, I'm finding so many more excersizes I can do with my 5 pounder's that really make a difference...and the best part is you can do the majority of them sitting on your ass!

WOW Pbear! 5 pounds in one week?! You must be doing something right. The water intake really does make a huge difference. I hope your babe gets better real soon.

Rebecca..keep up the momentum and have a great week!
