Mucus plug...questions

So do all woman lose their mucus plug before going into labor? I know some lose it days before sometimes even a week or more before but can you lose it while in active labor or does it always come out before you go into active labor?

Some women don't lose theirs until they go into labor. I never lost mine with either of my children. Hope that helps and congrats on your new baby!

I never saw evidence of mine with my oldest at all...but with my youngest I began to loose it a few days before I went into labor....I thought maybe at first that it had something to do with the fact both of my babies were priemies but evidently not...it will happen when it happens my dear...I know you are impatiently awaiting the day...but trust me when I tell you...savor your time pregnant now...cause when the baby comes you will of course love the bundle of joy ...but you will soon miss being pregnant....and it will seem like at first the labor process went by so fast....or atleast it did for me in both times....now I wish I would have savored the time a little more....

I never recognized the loss of my mucous plug - the only thing I can figure is it might have fallen into the toilet when my water broke.

I lost mine during labor with my first 2. It was a bloody show and scared the heck out of me each time. With my 3rd I started losing it a couple of weeks before. It was slow and gradual and not scary at all. I hope it will happen like that with my fourth as well.

I never saw it on the first pregnancy but did on the next two. With DD2 it was a big snotty looking blob in the undies, With DD3 it was a slower process, a little snotty looking everytime I wiped for about 24 hours prior to delivery.

i just gave birth on Monday, and for the entire week previous I had Bloody Show..but not a formed plug. I also had prodromal labor the whole week. hth

I didn't lose mine. The nurse took it when she broke my water.
