I know that caffeine is linked to miscarriage, and plan to avoid it as much as possible during the 2ww and then of course if I get pg.
BUT -- does anyone have any links or know anything about whether drinking caffeine moderately (2-3 cups or soda/day) has an impact on fertility itself? In other words, if I drink coffee now am I hurting my chances of conceiving?
It's hard to go without that morning cup of coffee!

A while back, I had read that caffeine is actually worse while ttc than when pg. At that time, it was recommended to have no more than two caffinated drinks when ttc. And no more than 4 when pg. (Which seemed like a lot to me so I stuck with no more than two then as well!) Since that recent study, it has dropped to no more than two when pg. Also, realize that 2 drinks can vary a lot. Instant coffee has less than drip coffee and soda has less than instant coffee. I wouldn't stress over 2-3 sodas unless they're Jolts or something. If it's instant coffee, I'd try to keep it at 2. And if it's one of those starbucks coffee's, I'd try to do just one.
I normally drink two cups of instant coffee when not ttc or pg. When ttc or pg, I drink just one. (Until I get pg, then I get too sick to drink coffee for a few months- so there's no way caffeine made me miscarry!) I cut down when ttc since I don't want to deal with caffeine withdrawal headaches when I' m newly pg! (Or constipation since it compounds the problem to stop caffiene and be newly pg it seems!)

I think a recent study showed caffeine to be a high miscarriage risk. It was just out in a bunch of newspapers in the last couple of weeks, I believe, if you google it. I know what you mean about feeling to sick to drink coffee when pg -- I couldn't stand the thought of it when I was pg.
I don't remember having trouble laying off the caffeine last time. But then, I didn't have a child, so I guess I was well rested...
