I have been taking Fenugreek for three days, I am still pretty unsuccessful at pumping. I continue to nurse but have been supplementing with pumped milk and formula. I see no change in my milk, nor do I have a "smell of maple syrup"??

I plan on giving it another day or two and then consulting the lactation specialist/pediatrician. As I mentioned in another post I was successful at nursing my other five children. Whom do you turn to for help your ob, your lactation consultant or your pediatrician.

Her weight gain was pretty good at todays appointment and the pediatrician said I could try to supplement less, perhaps she will feed at the next feeding more easily.

TIA for any advice/support.

I'd go for the lactation consultant. Peds & OBs vary widely in their knowledge and support of BF. How much Fenugreek are you taking?

WTG on the weight gain!

hi, I am taking Fenugreek as well. I got the same problem but i call and ask. The advice to me is to continue taking and let baby suck your breast often. It take about a week to come. I message to get it a week later. But now I had a problem again.

I found my lactation consultant through my pediatrician. You may also want to check with La Leche League http://www.llli.org/, they may be able to refer you to a lactation consultant in your community.
