my baby is weaning

she is 18 months now. the past week or 2 she has started nursing less and less and when she does nurse its only for a short time or she gets distracted.

i can tell i'm not making as much milk too. so its just a matter of time before she's done all together.

in a way i'm ready. i'm ready for icecream..or a milkshake..creampie maybe..heck even yogurt.

she has been more of a cuddle bug lately too. she doesn't come running for boobies everytime i sit on the couch. its kinda nice to know that she loves me for more than a quick snack.

so far i don't think she notices that she's not nursing as much. she wakes up in the morning and asks me for a banana instead of nursing.

i'm fine with it all. just a little sad that my last baby is growing up.

as i was typing this she climbed onto my lap and asked to nurse. she heard her brothers laughing in the other room and hopped off my lap and into the dining room to check out the situation. she's such a busy girl now.

Oh, how I envy you but then I realize that I'll be sad too when the day comes that dd doesn't nurse every time I sit down.

the past few days maddy hasn't been feeling good so she's been wanting to nurse more..like non-stopish. in a way i'm glad that she hadn't completely weaned yet and i still had some milk because she hasn't been wanting to eat much of anything else or take a sippy cup so she's atleast keeping somewhat hydrated.

i can tell my supply is up from all the nursing.

i was kinda starting to get used to her doing her own thing if i sat down. i think i'm ready now. she can grow up, its ok..lol she's started potty training too..more like taking her diaper off and peeing on the floor. she wouldn't go near our potty chair so we bought her a new pink one in hopes that she'd like that. she's been pushing it around the house and using it for a stepstool but won't sit on it when the time comes. we picked up some panties for her too to wear over her diapers so she can't get them off as easy and i can catch her before she starts flinging poo.

well she's hopped up on my lap again 'i need baby' she said.
