I currently have a $50 Evenflo pump from Wal-Mart. It does the job but even though it's a dual pump, it isn't beefy enough do actually pump both breast at the same time. I need something quiet and battery powered since I am going to have to pump in public next week. I can't spend more than 150 dollars.

i'm not an expert but i think any LC will tell you madela pump in style...its pricey, about 279.00 at target, but its the best on the market for sure....it does have a battery option, also if you cant afford one, depending on your income your state WIC program are breastfeeding advocates and as long as you tell them you are exclusively breastfeeding you can rent one from them free of cost i think you cant make more that 34,000 for a household of 3 (including adults) to qualify....but they will provide you with a hospital grade pump...

I have the Playtex Double Electric. It cost around $170, but you might be able to bid on one one ebay for less. It has a car adapter included, if that will work for you pumping in public?? I really like the pump. It is comfortable, quiet and I have been able to get a good amount (~9oz in am) at one time.

Have you thought of a manual pump? The Avent Isis is a good, reasonably priced one. It is a manual pump though, and you have to do one side at a time. It would be well within your price range, but may not fit your needs.
But as others have said, the Medela is wonderful. A bit pricey, but totally worth it!

Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and splurged for the Medela. It was $270.00! It was more expensive than I wanted but it's still cheaper than formula.
