My DS had his 4 mo checkup last Tuesday. He's weighing in at 13 pounds (doubled birth weight). Coincidentally, that was his last time of great sleep. Suddenly, we're lucky if he naps for fourty minutes. He will only sleep for one three hour stretch at night and getting him back to sleep is next to impossible. Prior to the dr visit, he had been sleeping between 7 and 10 hours a night. The ped suggested starting him on cereal, but I don't want to do this (family history of food allergies). We've tried everything we can think of - inluding driving him in the car (he wakesup as soon as the car stops), and using a baby swing. The only way he will fall asleep is if I hold him upright. He won't even let me husband snuggle him. After several days, I'm exhausted and I think the problem is getting worse. Am I making too much of this? Do babies have sleep problems? My older child was a horrid sleeper until age one, I'm not anxious to repeat that!"wait1"
