Hello, just found this site and I'm five months in on nursing my twins. I wish I found it sooner. My girl Molly has the stomach flu, i always thought a nursed baby couldnt get sick because she has my immunities. The flu has went through my house in me my 2 year old boy and my hubby. I didnt think my twins would get it. I'm confused!

Congrats on your twins and nursing! My twins are just now three; they nursed until 26 months. I've got a new one, too, but a singleton this time!
My boys had a stomach flu at some point, too, and it was nasty. Perhaps yours won't get the bug as bad as others, and I'm sure that breastmilk will help keep them hydrated and nurished through all the yuck.
Best of luck.

My twins are 16 months and get sick quite a bit.
Does your 2 year old go to daycare? I have an older daughter who is 5, and goes to Kindergarten. So, she brings home the junk from K, and while it may not affect her, it does affect my boys. My Dr (who is *very* breastfeeding supportive), said that it takes 2-3 years for their immune systems to be fully developed. So every little thing my DD brings home, they get.
She said that if they weren't being nursed, they'd be worse off. I can attest to that. While my boys do get sick, they don't get AS sick as babies their age. One of them had RSV and while babies his age was in the hospital, he got better within a few days. And, specfically regarding the stomach virus, the *best* thing to do is to nurse. Mama's milk was the only thing that they could keep down while they had it.
