Hello Ladies, I'm a new member, but please know your posts have helped me in the last 6 months tremendously. Quick question: How many of you are planning on pumping once your little ones are past the 1 year mark. I would like for ds to be exclusively bf for the first year, but there are days I cannot see myself pumping past the first year....

If my DD is still breastfeeding past a year, which I expect that she will be, I will continue to pump. I only work 3 evening a week so although pumping is not my favorite thing in the world, it hasn't been a trial for me either. Also, it seems that most kids as the get older keep that bedtime nursing longer. Therefore, I'll want to leave milk for her at bedtime which would require me to pump those three nights.

However I don't know how long after that 1 year mark, I'll keep doing it. Personally I do not want to tandem nurse, and I plan on TTC when she's around 18mths so I'll probably start initiating the weaning process around the 1 year mark with the intention of being completely weaned by the time I'm TTC.

I am pumping 2x day currently for my 16 mon old ds. I have recently cut back from 3x day and may pump wean soon. I continued past a year because of his asthma. I felt that he needed lots of bm to boost his immune system through at least part of the winter season.

My 16 month old is still bf on demand when w/ me and I don't give him any other milk, so yes, I still pump once or twice at work. We still cosleeps so he gets enough bm for the day.

I am planning to pump wean by the time ds is a year. Fortunately I am able to go home and nurse him during my lunch, so if he is still nursing past the 1 year mark I will nurse him before & after work and during lunch. I guess if I were away from him for a whole day I would probably have to pump, but I'm pretty much hopping not to.
