I am first time nursing my second son. I tried latch on for the 1st 4 week and he got the jaundice and was unable to continue as doctor told me to change to formula. I tried both formula and bottle breastmilk after his jaundice had cleared. Now, he is 2 months old and i still breastfeed him and bottle feed - either breastmilk or formula. I take peptomet 10mg and fernugreen. It took me a weeks to increase my milk supply. But it seems to go downfall again .... It there a frequncy wave for milk supply??? I am now totally dry up on my both breast . Anyone having the same problem? With the empty breast, I still nurse my son, he was so frustrated with my breast and he pulled away a few time. I try change side, little improvement and than he fall asleep. Can any one tell me if you have such experience of some time full of milk and some time no milk at all? Will the milk comes again..
Today, I had my son 120ml of breastmilk in bottle feeding and he had wet diaper, after lunch time , I latch him on and feed him for 10min and he fall asleep, i try to wake him up, he refused. I nurse him next 2 hrs, it is another 10 mins and he fall asleep. so Far, he is being nurse for 3 times with 2 hrs interval. and he got 3 wet diaper. Is this normal? had he got enough milk?He had his last feeding at night 8pm and he will fall asleep till he ask for next feeding during the night. Any lactation consultant can tell me why?

I'm really sorry, but I'm afraid I'm not totally clear about what you're saying or asking. What I'm getting is that you've been both formula feeding and breastfeeding since your son was a week old, but lately he seems unsatisfied with the breast sometimes. You're worried that he may not be getting enough.

I'm going to post two links below that, hopefully, will help you. Please clarify or ask further questions if this is not what you're needing.

I will say pumping is in no way a good wat to tell how much milk you have. Some women do not respond to a pump at all. Yet their babies do not go hungry. Is the baby having enough wet (6-8 daily) diapers? To get your supply up nurse nurse. Oatmeal can help as can Fenugreek.

Your breasts will only fill up each time to the amount that you used last time you fed.
You need to empty them each time you feed. You should keep a regular schedule to make sure you have plenty and that baby doesn't fall asleep. Wet his feet to keep him awake!

You can pump after baby or get your husband to nurse and empty the rest. This works well for me and I always have plenty. Drink plenty of water too.
I'm not sure how well this would work with most hubbys! Sure mine likes to taste test sometimes, but I don't think he would be good with emptying my breasts if my ds didn't. :D

Makes more sense now. I was a little thrown off by her comment.
