I'm just about 26 weeks and I've started to get the BH contractions, not a lot, but some. When I do I feel like the air is just being sucked out of me. I get so short of breath and then when it stops I feel better. I had it with DS but never asked my OB about it. Is it something I should worry about or is it fairly normal?

I had braxton hicks very early (around 20 weeks) in my second pregnancy and unfortunately they caused my cervix to begin dilating early and my water broke at 31 weeks. I kept telling my OB about them but they kept blowing it off as if it was okay and that I shouldn't worry. I would definately consult with your doctor...especially if they feel like air is being sucked out of you... That doesn't sound like a mild contraction. Strong contractions can cause your cervix to dilate early and/or your water to break too early.

It is normal but i would suggest going to get checked out for safety sake.

Check with your MD and get an NST. You could be contracting more than you know especially if some are hurting that bad!

I would check with your doc...I had early BH with my second - I ended up going into full-blown labor at 30, 34 and 35 weeks. When it happened again at 36 weeks, they delivered my son. I was put on "modified" activity at 20 weeks when I started feeling the BH and was carefully monitored from that point on.
