OMG, I can't stand it! 9DPO and ALL signs pointing towards a BFP! (Wow, that's a lot of caps!) I actually feel pregnant this time and my excitement level is growing by the second...I'm in for a huge fall if this turns out to be wrong. 17 months of active trying since my m/c may finally be over, and naturally instead of IUI too. Keep me grounded for the next couple days ladies, but jump up and down with me too!

It was negative, but it's still way early and temps were still up today. I had 2 straight hours of nausea last night, so I'm still pretty sure I'll get the positive any day now!

Today was a FRER, but the others I have are all store brand. I've got 5 so I'll test every day as long as temps stay high. It's possible too that I'm only 8DPO instead of 10, thought I highly doubt it.

Thursday update:
Temp still high, test still negative. FF finally gave me crosshairs, but it thinks CD20 instead of CD18. U/s's on CD13 and CD15 predicted it to be CD18 and I feel my symptoms supported that, however I had the flu that whole weekend which could have delayed it. I have some pms setting in this morning so that's the first bad sign. I don't know what to think except that I'm not as confident anymore.
Macabe
03-06-2008, 05:57 AM
Were you taking anything for the flu that might have caused you to dry up a bit early? That might explain the inconsistency between the temps and the CM.
Temps still up is a good sign--you usually start to drop at some point. It's not over till it's over.

Yes, I took generic Sudafed and Afrin days 14-17. Once I got the temp rise on day 21, I called the nurse and asked which day she thought. She agreed with me that it was Sunday based on u/s, opk, and o pain. She said it was not that uncommon to not see an immediate temp rise.
Yes, high temps are still a great sign, but it's mainly the pms that is getting me down about this. Maybe it's just the normal emotions that go with that, but it's usually a sure sign for me.

Friday update:
Test still negative, temp still up. No pms so my confidence is back up. Temps might even be higher if I wasn't consistently waking up 2 hours early with anticipation! Come on already! "wait1" I'll be spending the whole day with my mom today, I SO want to tell her.

Oh my I used to do the same thing on days I was expecting something--either an O rise, or a test day. I started waking at 6, then 5, then 4, and it was getting ridiculous!!!
Good luck. :)

I of course a a litle late but I was just looking at your chart and it is looking good! May I ask, the three months that you have in the analyzer, are those months that you were pregnant before? Saturday update:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Ok, here's the scoop. Temp higher, test still negative, feeling very pregnant. I even broke down and bought more FRER's yesterday so that's what I used today and will tomorrow too. Since even that is showing negative on what should be 13DPO, I'm thinking this is supporting the chance that O was actually CD20, putting me only on 11DPO now. Plus, I almost always go up to 97.6 immediately following O. In the three years of charting and 37 cycles I have to refer to, I have NEVER gone above 98 and stayed there, let alone reached today's 98.3 unless I was pregnant. The only sign I feel don't have yet is sore breasts, and that has always started on 12DPO for me. So, we'll see what tomorrow brings.
I'm so grateful to have all of you along for the ride. I chose to only include one friend irl in this saga and she doesn't understand charts so I can't really obsess with her like I can with you! And DH is too afraid to get excited yet, so I've only told him bits and pieces of what you know. It just really means a lot.

Sunday:
Everything still the same. I'm getting frustrated and will request a blood test tomorrow if it's the same. The spotting I had yesterday was one time, and it was bright red and very small. I don't often spot before AF, but when I do it's usually brown-ish. Hmmmm. Still waking up really early too, I HATE that!

OK, I have a question. When exactly does the hcg start? Fertilization or implantation? Because if it's implantation, and if that's what my spotting was yesterday, then I tested about 16 hours after that. Maybe that was too soon to detect? Grasping at straws, I know.
Macabe
03-09-2008, 12:56 PM
I believe the hcg doesn't get produced until implantation, which is usually about a week after O. That's why I don't buy that some people say "implantation" spotting is around the same time you'd get your period. That doesn't make any sense at all, unless it's another process that's happening after initial implantation.
hcg is going to be detectable by blood test at around 8-9DPO, although it might not hit the "25" threshhold that most docs use for +.
By 2 weeks past O, it should most definitely be detectable by blood test and FRER, but for some reason, it just doesn't show up for everybody that early.
Remember the other rule of thumb--18 high temps and you're pregnant.
I hope the tiny drop today isn't indicative of anything. Typically, you have major drops well before 14 DPO, so I'd have to say that your chart still looks very good. Also, I'm not completely convinced that you O'd on CD18 and not CD20 (especially given that you were sick), so you might actually only be 12 DPO and that's still early to get a + on a home test.
CPAMOM
03-09-2008, 01:41 PM
Be careful about getting the blood test. Remember that mine was negative because the egg had not implanted yet. Have you asked the FF VIP helpers? They were really helpful....I thought you had some free time on there this month.

Monday:
It's about over. No AF yet, but my typical temp drop just prior and I feel it coming on. I didn't even bother testing. It must have been the progesterone all along, but since it didn't change things at all last month, I had no reason to think this month would be different. Now I know better. I'll be calling to get the next IUI scheduled, and I'm considering only temping through O and then taking a break for the LP so that I don't do this to myself again.
Thanks again for riding this out with me. :( I love you guys!

I'm sorry, Love. It really is such a roller coaster. You won't be judged here for the hope of pregnancy. It is really hard emotionally. Your in my prayers for some comfort and future BFP that are sticky! Thinking of you for your IUI appointment. We many not have internet in Hawaii so I won't be around the next month to check in on you. But I will be thinking about all the women here.

This is what I started doing when we were ttc after Allie was born. I would temp until I confirmed ov, then stop and then just count until 15-16 dpo and test (since AF won't come with me on the prometrium). I've found it makes it somewhat less of a roller coaster and definitely a better way for me to handle ttc.

But it's sure no fun for everyone else!
Plus, I said I was "considering" it, so we'll see if I can actually be disciplined enough to do it. If I end up being a wimp, we'll just have to keep this in mind and not count on anything but the tests.

Hi. I'm new here, but I totally understand the frustration while charting. My dh and I TTC for 4 years and finally gave up. I then decided to adopt post gradschool. Well, after that first semester in school, I was pregnant with my first. Then got pregnant with my second a year later and finally my third, which is due Tuesday.
The only planned one of the three (since the first and last PG's were a surprise) was child #2. After having charted my temp for about a billion years, I knew that I was likely to ovulate about a week after my ended. We just had 'fun' every other day during that time period. That one only took one try. I was counting on about 3 months of trying. But the point is, our bodies are sometimes predictable, but other times not. Don't beat yourself up over it.
Oh yeah, I was on glucophage and I took prenatal vitamins, and I hear that that helped as well.
