OB wants another post m/c blood test - a question

I'm now almost a month past my m/c and had 3 blood tests. Last one was on 2/19 and my level was 15. OB said fine, do a PG test next week to make sure its negative (which it was) and that was it. So now, almost 3 weeks later another OB in the practice wants me to do another blood test to make sure my level has dropped again. I asked why and he wants to make sure it has dropped.

But if I am around dpo7 or 8 and happen to be PG - will that show up in a blood test?

If you know for certain that you have ovulated, then it means your numbers went to 0 and there really is no reason for the test.

If you are 7-8dpo, then most likely you would still get a negative blood test as a baby would just be implanting or not even implanted yet. HCG isn't produced until implantation, so it would most likely be too early to tell.

I only think I am at 7-8dpo b/c I used opks which were positive- I haven't been temping so I don't know for sure. Also, I guess there was a chance of the OPks picking up some HCG still left in my system after m/c but now the OPks are negative. I didn't think the blood test could pick it up, but I feel better knowing that if the blood test shows 0 levels it may just be too early & I'm not out of hope for this month(kwim?).
