Been trying to work on this since the summer when it was too hot, but now that it is cooler, maybe we can do it.

I know that we had interest from Jecca, The Steel Magnolia and Picollo Rose.

Anyone else close?

Lets talk dates.....

I know I already told you, but the kids here will be out a whole week for Thanksgiving.

What dates were you looking at? Natalie and I will be visiting my parents in Mississippi and my sister in LA the week of November 17th - 24th.

We really hadn't talked dates, other than Jecca mentioning the kids would be out of school the week of Thanksgiving.

I think that coinsides with your dates Gigi?

What dates will you be in LA and will you be closer to NO then or when you are in MS?

We would be interested in that - we are about three hours away, close to Piccolo Rose. Time is not a big deal here, as we are homeschooling, but we will be heading north for Christmas from 12/18 - New Year. If it was on a weekend we might be able to combine it with the Renaissance Festival in Hammond! :)

Rene - My SIL was talking about the festival too. When is it?

We are also homeschooling this year.

Weekends starting last weekend through December 9. http://www.larenfest.com/ There is a link there to the student days they are having. We are taking ds1 on 11/15 for the homeschool K through 5 day. Dh and I went to this last year (the festival, not the student day). It is not as big as the one we used to go north of Cincinnati, but we like it. On the regular weekends, there would be some things in some booths and some shows that some parents may not find that appropriate for kids, so I am glad there is a student day, when I assume most of that will not be there.

ETA: Your kids are almost exactly the same ages as my kids. Ds1 was born 8/01 and the triplets 5/03 :)

Rene - I went to your profile and thought to myself - "it's Rene with the triplets."

Yea - I was thinking the same thing about the kids ages. I don't know what I would do with another 2 DD's age.

Hope we can meet soon.

BTW - I also turned 40 this year. :)

Well, there are days when I could hand over two more kids for you to have a turn! ;) I am okay with 40 now, I think, but I had a harder time than I thought I would.

It would be great to meet up, I hope it works out.

My sister lives in Pearl River (which is a left turn away from Slidell), so I'd be less than an hour from NO if I'm in LA.

I'll be about 3 hours away while in MS.

The plan was for me to fly NO and stay with my sister, but I was never able to get any reasonable tickets for me & DD. So, I'm driving straight to MS and will probably be there the whole time.

Hope this works out for all of us.

I have a membership, so I wouldn't mind possibly making two trips if everyone couldn't make it the same day. :)

Lets keep talking!!!!!!!

Mine and Lisa's kids will be out of school the Nov. 19-23. There would also be the weekends before and after.

To be quite honest, Lisa and I haven't really talked much about it. Honestly, I have talked to Lisa much lately. She's on week two of starting a Full time job. Plus she still has her ASL business. Her first two weeks of starting her FT job she had to do some training which put her working more hrs. then she'll be working. I think next week should get back to normal for her (somewhat) and I WILL talk to her as soon as I get a chance. I know that even though her kids will be out that whole week, she , unfortunately will still be working. But her schedule is supposed to be her off on Tues. & Wed. b/c those days she has ASL classes. I'm just not sure exactly which day she would be able to go. May be that we have to do it on one of those weekends. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know Anne. I'm sorry. I haven't been avoiding the subject, but I just didn't know yet. I REALLY, REALLY want to do this meetup. And I know that Lisa does too. And I am thrilled that Gigi and Rene are wanting to go too. Yay!!! Anyway, I may be seeing Lisa this weekend and I will talk w/ her and see what we can do!

Hey Jecca - I didn't think you were avoiding anything. :)

I know everyone is busy.

I have just been bumping the idea up on the debate board to either catch you and Lisa or get interest from others. Like we did. :)

Once we got more interest, I figured I'd send you a PM.

Just let us know when you can.

I didn't necessarily think you did. I just wanted you to know why b/c I felt bad. Honestly I had forgotten too. I'm sorry. Again, I will talk to lisa asap and let you all know! :)

No problem Jecca.

Look forward to hearing from you and Lisa.

I am always game for a GTG. I really hope it works out time. :)

I'm about 2 - 2.5 hours from the NO zoo, depending on traffic.

Any day after Saturday the 17th of November is good for me. I'm having school issues and have to retake a nasty state test that I've already passed once on that day. Big mess. Before then I'm studying like mad.

I still have limited internet access. A few of you have my cell phone number, so please call me. If you don't have it anymore and need to get in touch with me and I'm not around, then please ask Rieckah for it. I'll let her know it's okay to give any you my cell #.

Keep me posted. :)

I guess no one could do it with the Thanksgiving holidays.

I know December is busy for most. We are pretty much filled on the weekends already, but b/c we are homeschooling right now - I can maybe still do a weekday in Dec.

December is probably out for us. We are leaving for Ohio and Michigan on the 18th and things are filling up fast before that. We would be open for January, except for whatever weekend is around the 21st, as that is my dh's 40th birthday.

I can do January, but it would have to be on a weekend or on a school holiday (if there are any that month). I start my student teaching then and will be making a very valiant effort to keep a couple hundred high schoolers quiet during the week.
