Has anyone ever tried or heard of the herbal Shatavari to increase milk supply?

I have heard of it but never tried it. I use the Nursing Mother's tincture from Kerry's herbals. Works great for me!

How much, how often, and how do you take it? How much did it increase your output?


The bottle says 2-3 dropper-fulls 3 times a day. The tincture is alcohol based and tastes HORRIBLE by itself. I mix it with 2oz cran-raspberry juice and it's much more tolerable.

Before I started taking it I was pumping 1.5-2oz from each breast every 3 hrs. I'm now pumping 3-4oz from each breast every 4hrs. BTW, I'm exclusively pumping so that's why I pump so often on a regular basis. I pump an avg of 40-44oz BM per day. I'm lucky that my body responds so well to a pump! :)

There is also a similar herbal tincture called More Milk Plus made by Motherlove. You can check it out with the following link:

It also comes in capsule form if you prefer. The More Milk Plus is a bit more expensive, but it is effective and you can get it from Whole Foods if you have one nearby.
