Hi All,

Wondering if anyone has or knows about progesterone cream? Why did you use it?

Was it from a doctor or something you did on your own, based on your own research?

thanks!

If you need progesterone, then I would get progesterone suppositories through a prescription, not the creams. The suppositories are much more effective and absorb great. (Drs call also prescribe progesterone pills but those don't work as well. Injections work really well but I'm guessing you don't need those since you'd likely know if you did).

I don't know if I need anything but I am having short luteal phases.

I am in England and a part of their National Health Care so it will be a while before I see a specialist.

I was just wondering if anyone had used it for a short phase or for some other reasons?

Vitex is supposed to be helpful with a short LP. It did help me the same cycle I used it, but it can take up to 3 cycles to work. How short is your LP?

Hi Kohlby, its seven days. It starts with just spotting on that 7th day and continues until I start my period on the 14th day after Ovulation. It's only been in the last half year that this started up too.

Are you breastfeeding mich? Breastfeeding can make your LP shorter. If you are, then cutting back may help.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with the creams. If you really need progesterone, then you need a stronger dose that your dr can prescribe. You can try Vitex in the meantime while you're waiting to get an appointment. I used the pills but there's also a liquid. I bought my Vitex at a health store but it can be bought over the internet too. No prescription is needed. My LP isn't too short normally, at 11-12 days. But, it was only 9 days when my cycles returned. The very first cycle I took it, my LP went to 14 days! I've never had a 14 day LP in my life! I took it the next cycle too but miscarried. Vitex doesn't cause miscarriage but I worried about putting my body into a state it wasn't ready for so I didn't take it after that. (I did get pg with my daughter three cycles after that. I've had 5 miscarriages total, only one on Vitex, so there's a very real chance that Vitex didn't have a thing to do with it).
