Nipples still crack even after weaning

My son weaned himself at 14 months. He is 17 months now and my nipples still crack, worse than when he was nursing. Is this normal and if so should I still use the Lansinoh Brand Lanolin cream for cracked nipples?

I'd put something on them. My nipples have never cracked, and I'm still nursing my 3 year old.

You might also want to try not using any soap at all, on your breasts when you shower.
