Started having a horrible tooth ache 2 days ago. I called my Dentist this morning and he's calling in some Tylenol 3, Antibiotic and Diflucan. According to my chart, It looks like I've not ovulated yet. My Temp dropped today when I was expecting a rise. I looked at Kellymom to check on some of the meds.. And I frankly don't want to take any of them if I am pregnant. I have been taking 800 mg of Advil that wears off in 3 hours which makes me nervous enough!

Thinking we will wait till Next month to TTC if in fact I didn't already ovulate and am not already pregnant.

You could ask for an antibiotic that's okay in pregnancy, and I think Tylenol 3 should be okay, but I was told very specifically not to use diflucan while TTC, so I'd be concerned about that one.

I was actually told I could take ibuprofin while pg! I was shocked and questioned the nurse since I didn't think it was allowed. So, I'm not sure if it really is allowed now or if she thought it was okay in my case. (It was at the start of my 4th miscarriage before it was confirmed. I knew it was over but the nurse was still acting like I was a normal paranoid pg woman with bleeding). Many antibiotics are okay when pg too. I've found that a lot of meds say to ask dr or just not to take when pg or nursing - but then I find out their fine. The drug companies have to be very careful what they say in case it's later found that it does cause a problem.

Learned something new.. You can't get anything with Codeine or synthetic codeine in Hawaii. The antibiotic I got is Penicillin (B on the kellymom sight) and Fluconazole, Generic for Diflucan (C on Kellymom)
A (controlled studies show no risk)
B (no evidence of risk in humans)
C (risk cannot be ruled out)
D (positive evidence of risk)
X (contraindicated in pregnancy)

I won't be taking the Fluconazole until after I finish the antibiotics or show signs of a yeast infection.. either way I'm going to probably have to take a pregnancy test before I need to start it. I started taking Acidophilus as well to hopefully curb any yeast issues.. The Ibuprofen has been doing alright as well as Ice packs on my cheek. One of the guys here does have a 500 MG Lortab if I need it.. Frankly I don't want to take it unless absolutely necessary. It's the same dosage my Dr was trying to call in, but it's a synthetic codeine.

I'm so glad I can come here and ask for advice and whatnot. Thank you so much ladies.

Lortabs are okay during pregnancy (tooth issues while pregnant with meredith)

Are you having dental work done while you're there, or waiting until you're home?

Waiting till I get home. So far the pain and swelling is subsiding since I started the antibiotics. Only had to take a total of 1600 Mg of advil yesterday. So far at 9:30 this morning I'm doing alright. My Dentist did say if the pain and swelling didn't go away that I probably need to see a Dentist here.
