I seem to have lost track--is this an IUI try month or not? Either way you have to be getting close to test time, right?

It should have been an IUI month but O came earlier than expected and we missed it. AF is on her way so I know we are out and there is no point in testing. Next cycle starts the heavy duty drugs which I'm not looking forward to. :(

Thanks for checking in.

More heavy-duty than clomid?

He wants to start me with Clomid then add a few days of injections. Lots of risks with that so I'm nervous and not sure what we'll do yet. Possibly just stick with what we're doing but actually get the darn IUI done for a change.

I KNOW the injects are SO scary with multiple risks etc....but look at me...it can turn out VERY positively!! Keep your chin up and your options open girl!!! XOXOXO Brooke

Thanks Brooke, I know that a lot of good things can come from the injections so I tried to keep an open mind while thinking all of this through.

I have really gone back and forth on what is right for us. I so desperately want this long wait to be over, but I really fear the risks because they'd be happening to ME! DH has been on the midnight shift since last week, and though he has had the paperwork to look over, we finally had a chance to talk about it tonight. He doesn't think any additional risk is necessary at this point. We have achieved pregnancy twice before, it will happen again eventually. So since I was on the fence and he is strongly on one side of it, we have decided to continue with the clomid as is and schedule things conservatively this time so as not to miss the IUI window again. The clomid hasn't done anything additional for me for the last two cycles, but we can hope it will this next time. We'll reevaluate everything each cycle as necessary, and hopefully things will work out so that we won't need to go to the extremes.

Hey Lisa,

When we were dealing with infertility, my DH used the vitamin supplement Emergen-C to boost his sperm count. He had read that it helped. He did 4 packs/day and his count went from 6million to 98 million!!! We got pregnant 3 times with 4 IUIs. We have 2 kids! One miscarriage. I did Clomid to no avail unless you call cranky and strangely hormonal a good thing, did the big drugs for the pregnancy we lost and the one that brought our son, and no drugs for our daughter. The last 2- I scheduled my IUI earlier than the Dr. wanted me to! Hang in there! I was 38 and 39!!!!

Thanks Annie, I really appreciate you sharing your experience with me. I'll look into that vitamin. DH's count is only slightly lower than average and not anything that the docs are concerned about, but any increase would certainly improve our odds!
