Hi,
I'm planning on going to work when my baby is 3 months. I've been breastfeeding since day one and so far so good. Now I wanted to know which bottle to use once I go back to work. He is a gassy baby, and I know Dr.Browns are known for that.. but those bottles are a mission to clean. Does anyone know any othe bottles.

It depends on the baby, but mine hates the Dr. Brown's. He actually gets more gas from them, then with the Nuks. The Dr. ones aren't bad to clean in the dishwasher, if you get one of those top rack baskets. I've heard that the Soothies are really good.

My ds likes the avent. The nipples are supposedly closer to beng like the breast. Good luck.

My baby is really gassy for me because of my OALD, but she does fine with any bottle. She loved the Medela nipples with the pumping bottles the best for me. She hated any of the nurser nipples - we had Gerber and the Playtex Ventair nursers. All babies are different so if you can maybe try the single packs until you find something your baby likes and doesnt give gas.

My baby likes The first year- Breastflow bottles, but is not got gassy babies. I bought the Nuk-Orthodontic and the Playtex-VentAir Advanced.. and he didn't like any of them.. The Nuk one he took but can't really suck the milk out.. I'm thinking that maybe I'm using it wront, the bottle has this little blue cap that goes between the bottle and the nipple- i think... does anyone know???

I used the old fashion 4oz playtex bottles. I like the smaller bottles because it's easier to push the air out with my hand.

I have a Nuk but haven't used it yet. I assumed that that little cap was for travel to keep it from leaking. I figured you'd put it in after filling the bottle and take it out before giving it to baby. But I'm totally guessing.

Which ever bottles you decide to choose, try to get ones that are bisphenol-A (BPA) free. Here's a link about BPA:

I was using Avent bottles and I recently switched to Born Free bottles. They have a nipple similar to the Avent and my 2 month old didn't seem at all phased by the switch. I didn't want to take a chance with the Avent bottles b/c I am EPing and I rely soley on bottle feeding. The reports I've seen about bottles with BPA say that the more washing and heating of the bottles you do, the more BPA that leeches out of the plastic.
Here's a link for the Born Free bottles so you can check them out. Babies R Us carries them in the store.

When DD was on a bottle she took avent and I never had a problem. She also never got nipple confusion. I weaned her from a bottle around 9 1/2 - 10 months and gave her EBM in a sippy cup.
All babes are different and some do have a bottle preference. My recommendation is to make sure you have a slow flow nipple. I never switched DD from the #1 (slowest flow).
Practice before you go back to work and have someone else offer the bottle. Like a dad, gma, aunt etc. Some babes prefer their milk from the tap when it's around.
Enjoy this time, 3 months will be here tooooo soon.
