This is insane. I wish I had more info for you or some really good advice. I definitely suggest the media. Especially if you are not getting any help from city officials or anyone else. I wish you the best and have high hopes for this case. Please keep us updated.

I would say media and an attorney. I have never sued anyone or even thought of it, but I would get an attorney and go to the media in order for this not to happen to another person. I could see why an officer would be put out with someone falling asleep at the wheel, tired or not, I don't feel that is acceptable and he should have arranged for other transportation if he was that tired because he could have killed someone or himself. With that being said, I think that you and your nursing children were treated horribly and unfairly and I would want something done about that and I would use any tool available to me in my community or even outside of my community. I would absolutely start writing letters, making phone calls, find an attorney, etc. Afterall, it was not YOU who fell asleep at the wheel and you were only trying to move your vehicle out of the way and you were treated like a criminal. Outragious!

I'll be interested in seeing what KOTV says about it, since it's not been in the news or papers or anything thus far. Hey, did you know that OK court records are online and free? For all counties, including Creek. They show everything right down to traffic tickets and they update it daily. Here's the link if you're interested: http://www.odcr.com/

Just a note, there is no case number yet, so it's not listed on the site. Not sure why if she had a bail hearing already, but that's what it is.

You should consider calling the ACLU. They're often interested in cases like this, and have a significant bankroll to help if it's a case they want to champion. Good luck!

Oh my, I just read her original post and could not believe what I was reading! If I were her, I would sue the police department for their cruel and unusual punishment. I know the first night my LO slept through the night without nursing, I woke up in extreme pain, I cannot imagine enduring that for 24 hours.

I thought it would have been dropped too..wow! I would really be alerting some sort of city official or the local news stations, anyone willing to get my story out there so that there would be comminuty support. I am sure that DA would not want to look like the bad guy to an ENTIRE community. I do with you luck!!!!
