They suck ass. If you don't already have them, don't get them.
I bought a wireless internet card which they couldn't configure with MAC, I think because they are dumb, so I returned it the following day without ever actually using it. I paid cash for it. Over 300 dollars.
Right on the receipt it says that some cash refunds may come as a check in 7-15 business days if they don't have that in the store. Fine. That was over a damn month ago. Yesterday customer service at Nextel tells me that I should, yes SHOULD get a refund in 2-6 weeks! What the holy hell.

Me either. I used to love Nextel until the merge.
So did we. Lol. So did a lot of people. I know quite a few people who broke their contracts w/ Nextel after the merge.

Yes, they suck!!! We had wireless internet service with them and it was a mission to get that wireless thing to work with our computer.
We also had our phone service with them and one day my Dh got so pissed at them (I can't remember why) that ended up canceling everything.

I've never had a problem with them. Now Verizon I had nothing but problems.

My first internet card I had from them broke and even though I added insurance on it when I purchased it, it magically had no ins. on it when I wanted it replaced. It was only a month old.
I had to switch my address twice on the phone, once in person and again on the phone before it was ever changed.
Sooo many issues with them. Come on June!

The same thing happened to me! With that stupid camera phone (when it first came out). I had insurance added and they were also supposed to add a discount because I worked at a college. A couple months later, there was no insurance on it and they told me I had the phone too long to order it.
I was really pissed when a few months later, the flip screen broke (it happened to SO many of them that the replacements were backordered by 6 months or so). Even though I had the phone for less than a year (mind you that I paid full freaking price for it -- around $300), it wasn't covered by any type of warranty (not even through motorola) because of the manufacture date stamped on the damn phone.
I hate Nextel. I wouldn't recommend them. Ever. AT&T is just as bad, though.

I can't stand Sprint. I canceled my service with them when they started charging their customers to pay their bill in their store and to talk to a customer service rep. I seriously don't understand how that is even legal. Actually, I can. Who would have ever thought there would need to be a law forbidding companies to charge their customers for paying them or even calling them?

DH and i had sprint per merge. They screwed us w/ the Walkie talkie crap so we cancelled. Verizon has the best cell coverage IMO.

Here is another lovely Sprint testimonial:
Dh and I had a cell phone through Sprint nearly 8 years ago. After our contract was up (I can't remember exactly how long now, but after the contract was up we could continue on a month to month basis), we discontinued our service with them. Then, two months later, received a bill for service they supposedly provided after we had discontinued with them. We brought in all the paperwork to the store that we had been dealing with, along with the bill, and told them that we stopped having service 2 months prior and that we needed this taken care of. Now, 8 years later, we are still fighting that we never had service for the 2 months that they billed us for.
Every time we get a phone call from a collector, we have to fax them the information that we have, showing that we did not have cell phone service through Sprint (or in fact at all) for the two months that they billed us.
We have gone through Sprint, BBB and each bill collector that calls us, and every one of them has gotten a copy of our papers that state that we are being billed for service that we never had. It is affecting dh's credit, and we have no idea who else to go to to get this cleared up.

Contact the credit reporting agencies. Whoever holds the "debt" now will have to prove you owe the money. If you have proof that you don't and they have no proof then the agencies should remove it from your report. I'm not sure of the details but maybe "google" disputing a credit report.

Alright, thanks. We have papers printed out from the Sprint store showing that they did not provide service for those 2 months, so that should be proof enough.
I'll check out the link that you provided, thanks!

This is more against the insurance company, The Signal, but I'll post it anyways. I have not had a cell phone for about a week now even though I filed the claim the day after losing the phone. UPS says it should be here tomorrow; I guess we'll see.
I've never had a problem with them. Now Verizon I had nothing but problems.
Same here. I've had a pretty damn good experience with Sprint, actually.

Everything was fine with Sprint until they didn't mail me my refund when I bought my new phone last year. I had forgotten about it for awhile (easy to do when it takes two freakin months to get it) and when I checked up on it online it said because I had a business account I couldn't get a refund. I called Sprint and asked what had happened since I don't now, and never have had, a business account. She said, yes it was a mistake but since I hadn't caught it in time I wouldn't get my refund. We're talking a couple of months here, not years. On top of that, when I bought the new phone they changed my plan without telling me. I used to have the "Fair and Flexible" plan (where extra minutes were something like $5 for 100) and it got switched to a regular plan for the same price. Because there was no change in price I didn't notice since I have online billing and don't get a paper bill to look at. Imagine my surprise when I get a $120 bill one month! They said they sent me a notice in the mail (never saw it) so they're covered. They suck, and I can't wait for my contract to be up with them next year.

KNOCK ON WOOD! We haven't had any problems since we switched to Nextel about 2 years ago. Now when we had Verizon it was one thing after another. They overcharged us every single month. Every single freaking month I would have to call, dh would have to call, we'd spend at least 2 hours each month sorting the bill out.
I once got a bill from them where I was charged $2-$5 for several calls in a row, they said it was b/c I was bouncing off of other providers towers and was roaming.
But I made all the calls from my bedroom. I was charged for roaming, in my own house!
The same thing would happen each and every month, we would have to call and go through each call, line by line, and clear up overcharges, and the overages ran $10-$100 every month.
Once we accidently made a double payment and they took the extra payment out and told us they would cut us a check, we'd have it in 2 weeks.
8 months and about 30 phone calls, 4 emails and 2 letters later we finally got that check.
Once I called and the girl promised me the check in 3 days so I hung up and called right back and the next lady says "my notes say you are sending us a check in 3 days"
Hate verizon.
I love Nextel, b/c we can radio for free. I want to get phones for the older kids now that they have the unlimited for 99$ it would be a lot cheaper than the pay as you go phones and we radio them for free, but dh doesn't want to.

I had Sprint in 2000 and when my contract was up I got Verizon and have had them ever since. DH had Sprint when we were dating and they royally screwed him over, he has Verizon now too.

Sprint screwed me for almost a thousand dollars. I was 19 and was getting about 15 different bills to my address every month. Some crap ass employee at the ghetto sprint store activated a bunch of blow-ups on my account.

Sprint is the evil company that tried to get me to pay that false bill. Remember? They tried to charged me for calling my cousin that was in our extended local area. They blatantly lied to me twice. They are shifty.
I have to add that Sprit isn't our company at all. They were my cousin's company. We have Windstream and it was our home phone that they tried to charge.

Me too...no problems. I've been with Sprint for over 7yrs. Infact I am usually always able to upgrade to the phone I want for free. I've gotten several upgrades on my service for free. They also give discounts on your monthly bills if you work in education (or other companies on their list). Anytime I have disputed a charge on my bill they've taken it off. I'm happy.
Sorry you gals had such a bad experience.

We used Nextel for our special events. Things were great until the merger. Now it is just AWFUL. we seem to have A LOT of problems with the hardware as well.
The strangest stuff happens, voicemail shows up on the wrong #- IOW, call me and leave a message and it comes up on someone else on the teams phone! Flipped up man!
