DH called him yesterday and told him what's up.

Neighbor said he'd take care of it, won't happen again, and asked if he could clean it up. DH told him I already did it. Neighbor then said that if it continues he'd get rid of the dogs. o.o

Anywho. This AM I saw the dogs in the other neighbor's trash. They had that crap all over the place. :(

Just now, the dogs were sniffing around in our yard. I ran them off. They came back and DH ran them off again.

The neighbor doesn't seem to be trying very hard. I don't know what else to do, except to call the pound. they have tags, so they'd get fined for loose dogs, is what I was told.

I don't know why he would say, "I'll get rid of them" if they kept it up. Why not just solve the problem and keep your pets?

I hope no one tries to poison them because they are a nuisance.

I don't understand why people don't fence in their yards if they are going to have pets.

I'd call the pound.

I think calling the animal control would be best. You tried talking to them, then the next day the dogs are out -- that's absurd.

I know. I just don't want the dogs to go to the pound and be euthanized. If only he acted as if he gave a shit.

That's the problem. He doesn't give a shit. Just because they go to the pound doesn't mean they will be put down.

That sucks. It pisses me off when people don't take care of their pets.

Wow, what an asshole. he obviously doesn't care about them. Maybe he isn't feeding them and that is why they are scavenging? Either way, I would call a rescue or something.

Not feeding them was my first thought too. For them to go around searching for trash, seems like they are hungry. Maybe calling the pound would be best.

They seem really healthy. If they didn't, I would have called ASPCA a long time ago, and fed them.

They were back in our yards last night. I heard them by our window, and got up to see them trampling my garden. :( My flowers are smushed.

These are the same dogs that woke me up at 630am one morning, barking right by my window (our windows are low, it's an old ranch house).

I bet he is feeding them, my dog would tear through our trash immediatly after a big meal. Stinkers, they're just bored and smell good stuff in the trash.

I don't think you have a choice. I suppose you could call him up again and give him one more chance. Tell him this is it, you'll call animal control the next time. He probably doesn't really want them. :(

ITA.My dog will go through the trash if she smells something interesting enough, and she is well fed.(Another reason for me to have to put bags straight into the big can, lol)
I would call animal control. They have tags, they know there his dogs, he will get fined as he should be for it.It is completely his fault ..this coming from a pet owner whose dog actually broke out of the fenced back yard and ran amok in the neighborhood last week.
