I am throwing a party for my son's first birthday as well as a memorial day bbq on the same day. I had the kids decorate the envalopes and I decorated the invite with Vinny's handprint. All of the info is inside the invite. What do I put on the outside of the invite? Come celebrate, party? Looking for better ideas. TIA.

Sorry, I'm so very non-creative! I'm a simple girl, with no imagination, and would simply put 'Hey! It's a party! Someone's going to be ONE!'

How about a collage of pictures from Vinny's first year?

I am even less creative then that. I would probably call them up and say hey we are having a bbq to celebrate Vinny's first Birthday it is at this time hope you can make it.

Great idea, but no way:) I have already spent way too much time on this invites! I am no good with messin with pics on the puter. I can print them out but as far as getting fancy I could see another week long project with that one.

I like it. The only problem is my handwrighting. I really, really, have to concentrate for it to not look like chicken scratch. I could print it out but I figured I would just use some scrapbooking paper, heaven knows I have enough that is just sittin around!
I was also trying to somehow incorporate the memorial day weekend theme but I don't know if that is possible without just saying 'party'.

How about this:
At the craft store you can get red & white checked paper (picture a table cloth patter)
and white card stock, and some red, white and blue star shaped brads.
On the white card stock using your computer print what you would like to say. then cut it out. Cut the red & white checked paper to fit the size of the front of the card, attach the cut out card stock w/ writing using the star shaped brads, then attach it to the card using double double sided tape or glue stick.
