I woke up around 4:00 a.m. feeling crampy. I was really out of it and thought to myself, oh man, I'm going to start my period today, fart!! I wasn't too happy decided to roll over and go back to sleep. At 5:30 my eyes popped open because I was 9 months pregnant! There was no way I could be starting my period! I layed in bed for an hour and the crampiness started to get worse. I woke DH up said, I don't think you are going into work today. He said, Whatever, we have been through this before. I went and took a warm shower as it was 2 weeks before my due date, the contractions felt a bit better but were still consistent. I got out of the shower and saw that I was bleeding a bit and told DH, you are NOT going to work today. We got the kids up and fed and I walked around the house getting last minute things prepared. During that time I had some very painful contractions and was begging DH to hurry up so we could get to the hospital.
We got to the hospital around 8:30 and they checked me. I was at a 5 and was losing my mucus plug. DH's sister came in shortly and took DD and DS to her house. Around 11 my OB came in and asked if I wanted to have my water broken. I said sure. At the same time the anesthesiologist came in and asked if I needed an epidural. I was going to try for natural, but since the man was there, how could I refuse him? I got my epi around 11:30. I layed in bed, relaxed, joked with DH, and then all of a sudden I felt a ginormous amount of pressure. I asked DH to look down there to see if he could see anything. Nothing he said, so he called the nurse. She came in and said I was complete, did I want to start pushing? Sure. I pushed for 30 minutes and this is what came out!
