With this BPA scare I'm considering making a change. Since I went through so many different bottles before I finally settled on one I really don't want to invest in buying a new set of bottles if I don't have to. I've read in various post from you experts here :) that sippy cups can be an alternative to bottle feeding. What I'd like to know is how true is that? Can I transition my DD to using sippy cups completely instead of bottles? Or should I just maybe replace one bottle feeding with a sippy cup feeding? This might sound dumb but I really don't have any idea about this.
She only gets bottles at the nanny's house...about 4 feedings a day. I'm not really worried about my DD having a problem with the sippy cup. I've fed her BM on a spoon, she drinks water out of my sqeezy top bottled waters and loves it...so I think the she'd do great with the transition. But I wanted to get more information before I try something new.

I don't have any specific experience with this, however, I wanted to recommend a few BPA-free sippies for you.

You've already checked to see that your bottles have BPA, right?

Thank you for the link!
I'm only guessing they have some amt. because they weren't included on any of the lists i've seen of bottles that are BPA free. But I've already emailed the company to make sure.
Even if they don't or its a small amt. I'm still curious about the sippy feeding thing.

If your baby will drink okay with a sippy I can't imagine there being a problem with switching to a sippy cup. You do have to watch what sippy you buy also b/c many of them contain BPA as well.
The link madelsmama posted has some really great suggestions. I just ordered dd a kleen Kanteen yesterday.

Oooh thats cool...
We had a hard time w/bottles at first (long story) and I just don't want to change things up again for her regarding bottles. I really think she'll like the sippy and its something we'll eventually transition too anyways.
I might buy just one and try it out.

I just started giving a sippie to my dd about two weeks ago. She's not very good at holding it herself yet but does really well if we hold it for her. I would suggest using water for the first few attempts since a lot of it got on her shirt for the first week.
This is the sippie we use. I like it because the spout is soft like a bottle and the handles are attached to the lid so the spout is always even with the handles.

You can get them at Target. I've never checked walmart.

Hotlama, I don't think Nuby's are BPA free which is what the OP is looking for.

I'm guessing your asking me about the hard time I had w/bottles?!?
Actually it wasn't regarding her not wanting to take a bottle...it was an issue with her latching on and finding a good BFing friendly bottle...so I'm not sure im the best person on the "baby won't take bottle" subject. I know that many others here are though :)

Sorry hotlama! I thought it was this one but the one you posted is a 10oz.
Products Containing BPA
Bottles: Engraved Nuby Contour Bottle, 3-Stage Non-Drip Wide-Neck Bottle, Contour Bottle, Clear Printed Round Bottles (animal decorations), Clear Round Bottle with Nuby Nipple
Pacifiers: All pacifiers
Cups: No-Spill Gripper Cup, Mega Sipper with Fat Flip-It Straw Top, Two-Handle Cup with Valveless No-Spill Soft Silicone Spout with Vari-Flo Feature (7 oz), Insulated Cup with Flip-It Straw Top, Flip n Sip Cup, Grip n Sip Cup
It can be so confusing when one company has some products with BPA and some without. You have to be so careful.

Is this something you have done? If so, did you transition into using the sippy or how did it work for you?
