hi. i hope you can offer some advice. i am nursing my DD. she is 5.25. months. she doubled her birth weight at 5 months (was 7lbs even at birth and was 14lbs 2 oz on her 5 month bday). she was born on and has stayed on the 25th percentile this entire time, give or take a %ile or two up/down.

i am on domperidone and blessed thistle / fenugreek for supply problems. i have breast implants, over the muscle but inframammary incision. i always wonder if this is what is affecting my milk supply.

over the course of the past 5 months, i have had several episodes lasting from 3d to 1 week where my supply PLUMMETS. i mean sometimes my DD will have 4 wet diapers instead of the recommended 6 and i will see that she is only drinking from the breast for a very short time, even with breast compressions.

i can usually pump about 13-16 oz in 3 pumps per day. this morning, i could only pump less than half of that. i got 6 oz for two pumping sessions when normally i'd have closer to 12. also, today she isnt drinking for long as described above.

i am searching for answers. it is very difficult to supplement her bc she will not take a bottle, sippy cup, cup, or anything! we try to syringe but it's difficult and she also has had a severe spitting up problem where she will spit up 50 times per day. (in 24 hours).

for the past two nights i have had a sore throat, mostly on the left side. then last night i was scratching my ear (inside) and i heard and felt a pop and now my ear is extremely sore. can having an ear infection (assuming that is what i have) cause milk to decrease? what about a lot of stress? can that neg affect supply?

i am SO incredibly stressed, mournful and regretful of the surgery i had and of the problems i have had. my entire family doesnt know what to say anymore or how to help me. please, can you tell me what you think. i know breast implants being over the muscle is worse than under the muscle. i have them over. i am just so confused as to how to keep going.

i also dont fele as though i have any options bc she is so difficult to supplement even with my own pumped milk.

thank you. sorry i sound so desperate, but i guess i am.

I really feel your sadness and frustration. However, your milk supply sounds absolutely fabulous!!!! Most moms only pump about 1/2 oz when they have a baby feeding around the clock.
