Good afternoon, everyone :-) I have a question about crib bumper safety for small infants. My Nina-Bean just turned 3 months old, and about a week ago we started sleeping her in her crib (with me sleeping on the floor right next to her, of coarse). Well, my little snot-rag likes to scoot her little butt all over the crib and usually face plants into the crib bumper. Soooooo, I took it off last night, and let me tell you about the night WE had, LOL!! NO SLEEP, needless to say! She kept whacking her poor little noggin on the crib slats because she wouldn't stop scooting. I'm afraid to put the crib bumper back on because I don't want her to suffocate, but I don't want her poor brain to be damaged from whacking her skull on the crib slats, so I'm at a loss. What's everyone's opinion on using crib bumpers for belly sleeping babies? And, yes, I know that SIDS is contributed to belly sleeping more so than back sleeping, but Nina wears a Pavlik Wheaton Harness for Hip Displacia and cannot sleep on her back (actually, she REFUSES to sleep on her back). Any suggestions or advice? Thanks!
