I have a kidney infection and i have to be on an antibiotic but cant breastfeed for 7 days..I need some advice on how to go about it so he will return to my milk

Maybe you don't have to be off breastfeeding. What medicine are you taking and how old is your baby?

he is 8 months and the medicine is Levaquin

Levaquin is safe while breastfeeding, and the relative amount baby is getting is small anyway due to decreased dosage and using solids. So keep on breastfeeding. Sorry you got incorrect information.

does the fact that its 750mg make a difference..i just read online that it will get into my milk..i just want to make sure that it is not going to harm him

no, it will get into your milk..but the mechanics of what happens once there is what counts. it is safe for your baby. If you feel better, look at Dr Tom Hale and Medication and Mother's Milk. He has the best info.
