Hi,
My son is 2 months old and i m still having severe pain in my nipples.
Pain is worse after feeding but i dont have any pain during feeding. Once me and
baby were treated for thrush which didnt help me.
I visited a local Lactation consultant (I spend more than a $100 on it) which didnt helpme.
Please help me to get rid of this pain. I really want to brestfeed my baby.

It still sounds like thrush. Maybe you were not treated for long enough the first time. If you follow the Jack Newman (drjacknewman.com) protocol you can treat you and your baby for very little $$$. Thrush is a very tough thing to get rid of completely. You need 2 weeks of treatment.
If it is NOT thrush, do your nipples change colors after feeding? Do they go white? Did you experience nipple trauma when you first began to BF?? Does pumping hurt?

Mostly, I am really sorry this is still happening at 8 weeks... Lets try to figure it out!

When i was treated we both were treated for 2 weeks which didnt relieve my pain. And after feeding my nipple is turning white in colour. If i put a hot pack on my nipple immeadiatly after feeding it helps a little. What do you mean by nipple trauma? Pumping hurts me when i start it but after sometime it wont hurt me.

If you had a rough start with breastfeeding, lots of pain and cracked bleeding nipples. This will sometimes lead to Raynauds syndrome which can be very painful and one of the symptoms is that the nipples go white when the air hits them and heat helps. This is because you are experiencing a sudden lack of blood flow to the nipple which makes it turn white and really hurt. Heat encourages the blood to flow again hence bringing relief.

How do i know if its thrush or Raynauds syndrome or any other problem. And what is the solution for Raynauds syndrome. I never had cracked bleeding nipples.

Do you ever get the same feeling in your fingers or toes?
Raynauds hurts like crazy but does go away once the blood flow returns. Thrush is a very persistent pain that happens between EVERY feed and is usually deep tissue.. you feel it way inside of your breasts.
There is a medication for Raynauds, its main use is to lower blood pressure. It does not always work and must be prescribed by a doctor. Many times Raynauds will magically go away between 3 and 4 months.

I never had the same pain in my fingers or toes. When u say it goes away once the blood flow returns why i am having that when i start feeding. My left breast wasn't that painful for 2/3 weeks now again it started hurting like my right breast. At my 6 weeks Obgyn visit my doctor told me i dont have any thrush.

Very few OB's recognize thrush. The latch may still be painful because of the Reynauds. Does it feel better after a few minutes when he is finished nursing or does the pain go away? Do you experience deep tissue breast pain between feedings?

After the feeding a little pain starts(After 2-5 min) in my nipple and gradually it increases(lasts for 1-3hrs) and sometimes becomes worse. i am taking tylenol or motrin to get rid of that pain. I dont have any deep tissue breast pain between feedings. I think i 2/3 times had mastitis which is a very common i believe.

Mastitis can lead to Raynauds. There are some great articles on it. You have every right to be frustrated, this has not been easy. You are doing a great job. See how things are at the magic 12 weeks.. you are so close.
Happy Mother's day!!!

You can post your question any time you want. Ask every LC who is here! Some one will come up with what works for you!
