I am in the process of weaning my 14 month old from breast milk to cow’s milk. I am down to nursing only at/during the night and plan to completely stop real soon. The problem is my daughter keep spitting the cow’s milk I put in her sippy cups many times a day. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. I have tried it cold, warming it up, and even put a little chocolate powder milk mix in it! I am worried she is not getting enough calcium. She will only drink juice from a cup the whole day. I make her eat yogurt everyday and make rice /oatmeal cereal with whole milk, but that’s about all the milk I can get her to take. I have heard about mixing breast milk with cow’s milk but my supply is down and I would hate to bring my milk supply up by pumping again. Breastfeeding has totally drained me. Also, I just threw my pump away a month ago! How much calcium does she need on a daily basis? Should I buy a pump again or should I stop offering cow's milk and try at a later age? Any suggestions? How much liquids should she have daily?

I would address your pediatrian with your concerns re: calcium intake/fluid intake based on a daily diary of her total nutrition intake compared with the norm for her age.
If you do not want to relactate, a vitamin supplement with calcium would be beneficial for her. She can also get calcium from yogurt and cheese.
