I have been block nursing(3-4 times each breast) my son for the past 6 weeks due to OALD. I can feel the letdown pain every 1 hr or sometimes every 40 mts. My son leaves the nipple & cries everytime the flow is fast. That happens 2-3 times in a feeding of 20-30 mts. When I offer the same breast for the 3rd time, he nurses without leaving.

I want to solve this problem for good. I am not able to travel with him peacefully b'coz of this as sometimes I have to feed him sidelying too. What is the nest step after blocknursing to solve OALD?

Sit him upright on your leg. This will lessen the pull of gravity that exacerbates overactive letdown reflex.
Offer him only one breast per session for 20-25 minutes. This will also help your body adjust.

I was giving him only one breast per session for the first few weeks. Then when OALD happened, I switched to extend the same breast for 3 -4 feedings, which seemed to ease him a bit as when I offered him the same breast again & again he seemed to nurse calmly.

Are cabbage leaves good to reduce supply?
