View Full Version : medication during nursing
I have an eye infection caused by over wearing contacts and my eye doctor prescribed me to take tobradex ophth susp for 7 days. My baby boy is 2 months old and was a preemie is this going to be ok to take or will it harm my baby while I'm nursing? I know that it has steroroids and antibiotic in it.
Thank You

Tobradex is not fat soluble so very little, if any, will enter into your breastmilk.
I actually used this medication while I was nursing one of my sons.
Thank you for answering my question I feel so much better, I was just really worried giving this medication to my son.

Only 1/100 of MOST medications enter breastmilk, in contrast to pregnancy where EVERYTHING crosses the placental barrier.
