I have been doing both, and joined curves two months ago, I'm down about 16 lbs. I love it, three days a week. I started out at 204. My pre-pregnancy weight was 130. That is my goal again. Any curve ladies out there?

I was thinking about starting curves here in our town or going to the county fitness center. I was going to check out both and compare prices.

You will do well! I did both WW and curves and lost 40 pounds. I just love how curves is social and you can go in any time and get your workout done. Instead of waiting for a class to start.
Good luck and keep up the good work!

I am not doing Curves, as we don't have one near us, but I am having great success with WW. 40 pounds lost since March 7!! It is a wonderful thing, and worth every penny I spend on it.

Up till Aug 1 I managed 4 Curves clubs... my family owns 7 of them. ;-) I taught the 6 week solution classes at the clubs also for the past 5 years. With WW, just remember to eat at the high end of your calorie / point allowances with the emphasis on protein. If you're still nursing full time you need an extra 500 calories or so each day compared to someone who isn't.
The Curves weight management program uses the following ratios in each of their 3 phases... it is a program that works for most women as long as they complete them and then just monitor their weight occasionally. They have now completed nearly 6 yrs of independent study on the program at Baylor University with fantastic results.
higher protein version - 45% protein, 30% complex carbs, 25% healthy fats
higher carb version - 45% complex carbs, 30% protein, 25% healthy fats
phase 1 - 1200 cal / day (1700 for bf full time) for one week only
phase 2 - 1600 cal / day (2100 for bf full time) until you plateau
phase 3 - 2000 + cal / day for 3 days
1200 cal / day for 2 days
2000 + cal / day for 5 days
1200 cal / day for 2 days
2000 + cal / day for 10 days
(the main thing here is to never gain more than about 3 lbs without taking 2-3 days to get it back off, it's mostly water and a little fat usually. After 72 hrs of calorie restriction your body begins to recognize starvation hormones and responds by storing fat so by beginning to eat again before that time is up you can "trick" your body chemistry.)
Can't help myself. rofl Even though I quit to move back the the same town my family lives in (our clubs are several hours away) because of the current pregnancy, I still find myself 'working Curves' on the phone, on the internet, or im my mom's office. ;-) Of course, it now takes 2nd place to trying to build my Avon business here instead of there but it's hard to take the business out of the family business and leave it alone.
