I am going back to work in a couple weeks and am interested in the "hands free" pumping bras and such. I have a long commute and would like to pump and drive. Do any of you ladies do this? If so which device did you use? What were the things you liked or disliked about it? Sorry lots of questions, thank you for your help!

I don't pump, babe, but I just wanted to say that the boards tend to be a bit slower on the weekends, so don't be surprised if there aren't scads of responses. :)

I had medela nursing bras & am large breasted, don't know if either affected the driving & pumping hands free thing working for me. Anyway, I did this with both the Medela PIS and the Medela PIS advance. You can get a battery adapter for it from Radio Shack cheaper than the one from Medela. Once you've dropped babe off at daycare, stop in the parking lot and put the car in park. Set up the pump and put the horns (flanges) on your boobs w/ your nipple centered. Pull the nursing bra flaps over the bottom of the horns and turn the pump on. Put a baby blanket over the whole shebang and put the car in drive. Sometimes I had to steady the top of the horns with one arm until I had let down and the suction strengthened. But I was able to drive with 2 hands the majority of the time I was pumping. Pumping during the commute helped me tremendously in keeping up at work because I didn't have to take as many breaks during the workday if I pumped before & after work during the commute. I just wish I had figured out how to do it when I first went back to work! Good luck!

Thank you! Just one more question. Where do you sit the pump? Are the tubes long enough for it to sit in the passenger seat?

I got a pumping bra from babycenter.com. It is not Medela, i think it is Made by moms, or something. It is wonderful. Your tubes should reach. After only 2 1/2 months, and pumping 4 times a day, it comes in handy! Goodluck!!!!!!!
