So DD has turned 1 and I was wondering about a few things....

For those of you who offer cows milk when did you start it and how much? My mom, sister, and DH's sister have milk issues.

What are foods that she still shouldn't be eating? I can think of peanut butter, chocolate(high allergen and DH's sister has issues with it), and tomato products (DD gets eczema type rash when she eats them)

How many times does DD need to nurse for me to not have to worry about how much she eats? If that makes sense. DD eats like a champ loves fruits and veggies and nurses like no other day a night, thank God for cosleeping, just wondering for those occasional days she doesn't like to eat.

Can someone work their magic and help her learn to sleep through the night or only wake up once??? wouldn't that be nice. I like my sleep so much I don't try anything, she wakes up after starting her night in her crib and she just comes to bed with me. Can't complain to much though still haven't started my period yet and loving that.

I also had another question but since DD's sleeping and I can actually think and type I can't remember it, oh well need to go get ready anyways. I'll add it if I ever think of it

You've named all the foods I can think of - except anything that would be a choking hazard like popcorn and hotdogs. I'd still be avoiding any sweets or juice at this point as well. As for nursing, I'd continue to nurse on demand. You can offer solids first. Mine still nursed 6-8 times a day at a year old. He wasn't very fond of solids yet. Sleep will happen when it happens. Some sleep through the night early. Some wake in the night for years. Best just to remind yourself that they're only little for a short time. Oh, and I give teething tablets whenever teething is even a possibility. The fact that you co-sleep will help you get the most sleep I think. It helped me.

ITA with jackmommy. I think it's 4; if you're nursing at least 4 times a day, your toddler is getting the fat, calcium, and protein that he needs from the breastmilk.

I think we hit 4 times a day by like 6 am :) Totally still nursing on demand, just want to make sure she is nursing enough the days she doesn't nurse like normal. I'm guessing she still nurses 8-10 times a day on average. I'm not concerned or anything with the sleeping just think it would be nice. Everyone and their brother are concerned that shes not sleeping but the only advice they give is CIO and I tell them its not for me. I know there are other ways of encouraging it but I'm too lazy to try anything, and what we got going works for us. Thanks for the info

It's 3-4 times a day for nursing past 12 months.

Continue to avoid giving her nuts as well as peanut butter. I think shellfish is off limits for a couple more years, and the new guidelines for probably allergic kids recommend waiting until age 3 for fish and age 2 for eggs.

Thanks, cheryl! And I cannot, for the life of me, understand why I cannot remember that exact number! LOL

But, since I have you, though, I know you'll get the correct info out there. *smooch*
