:confused:I woke up this morning with pain in my left breast. It's on the bottom. I also got a lot less milk than I usually do when I pumped. Any ideas?

Could be a plugged duct. Try massaging the painful spot while nursing or pumping.

I'm hoping that's what it is. I massaged it the entire time I pumped this morning and about 30 minutes ago and it still hurts. I tried having dd latch on hoping that it would help but she has more important things to do right now. I guess her toys are more fun than my boobs.

To help the affected area, do hot soaks, if possible. Hovering over a hot bowl of water for a minimum of twenty minutes as often as possible, followed by circular massage and then try manually expressing milk from the area.
Take motrin for pain and a hot, moist compress in the area for at least twenty minutes will loosen the clog. A disposable diaper makes for a great hot compress;-)
When you nurse, try positioning babys bottom lip towards the area, this may mean hovering over baby in a strange position but this will be of great benefit.

Everytime I have a plugged duct, it hurts for awhile. The area feels like it's bruised, and it's sore. It'll get better in awhile. Just do as NN says, place dry heat on it before feeding or pumping, take Motrin, and massage as you feed. If it's still hard after a few days, I would see your Gyno. It could lead to Mastis, but I wouldn't worry about that, unless you need to.
