I don't know what will kick it, but don't give up mama! It is rough now but will be so worth it in the end! I will be part of your cheerleading section!

I don't have any personal experience with thrush, but I found this link at kellymom.

I had a really bad case of it. What helped was not wearing a bra. Yes, I leaked all over the place, and I only went without a bra in the house, but the airing out is what helped. I would suggest getting some probiotics, too.

How long did you treat babe and yourself? Well, how long after symptoms had abated? My rule of thumb is to use GSE for 3-4 days after symptoms are gone. Nystatin is my least favorite solution, though, as it's so sugary itself. GSE for both is what I've found is best.

Thrush is a pain in the ass, absolutely. BTDT, with all 4 of my kids! But you *can* kick it.

When I had thrush in a milk duct, Diflucan for both babe and I was the only way to kick it. (and it was incredibly freaking painful!) Make sure that you're getting more than just the single dose though, for you. And of course, babe being treated at the same time.

Continue the other precautions, though, WRT bras, laundry, pacifiers, etc.

Red has recommended using GSE for at least 3-4 days after your symptoms disappeared, I agree. That would mean a minimum of seven days treatment for you AND baby with the GSE, you have done this?

Honestly, I don't know anyone who hasn't eliminated the thrush after seven days with GSE. Maybe you are reinfecting yourself? Are you taking all the precautions like washing bras after one use, no cloth pads, no barrier creams. Boiling everything for a minimum of twenty minutes on a daily basis?

What type of probiotic are you both using? Does it require refrigeration? Here is the link, so you can refresh yourself: www.drjaygordon.com/development/bf/thrush.asp
